MakeupMatch ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use MakeupMatch:

Email address — used to create and manage your account
User-generated content — reviews and ratings you submit for product combinations
Product library — the makeup products you save to your personal collection
Usage data — number of AI analyses performed (used for rate limiting)

We do not collect your name, phone number, location, payment information, or any sensitive personal data.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and authenticate your account
To save your product library and reviews across devices
To generate AI compatibility scores between products (your product selections are sent to our AI provider for analysis)
To enforce daily usage limits for AI analyses
To send account-related emails (email confirmation, password recovery)

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

Supabase — database and authentication provider. Your email and app data are stored on Supabase infrastructure. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
Anthropic (Claude AI) — used to analyze ingredient compatibility between products. When you request an AI analysis, product ingredient data (not your personal information) is sent to Anthropic's API. See Anthropic Privacy Policy.

      We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
    

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data (email, reviews, product library) is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and associated data
Export your data

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure authentication provided by Supabase. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

7. Children's Privacy

MakeupMatch is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
